Sunderland Foundation, as part of their charitable efforts, has reached out to Hope Faith with a donation, giving no conditions on how they can spend it
Established in 1945 by Lester T. Sunderland, who was then president of Ash Grove Cement Company, the Sunderland Foundation has awarded more than $1 billion to organizations since its founding. The foundation has primarily supported various charity programs throughout the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. They plan to give away their remaining assets by 2030, with a focus on the Greater Kansas area, where the foundation was founded.
Recently, they have met with Hope Faith, a non-profit organization that provides hot meals, showers, and other essential services to men and women in need. In addition, they also connect them with housing services, counseling services, and substance abuse programs. Doug Langner, CEO of Hope Faith, has stated that the organization has not yet determined how to utilize the $2 million, which is reportedly equal to Hope Faith’s yearly budget.
